Introducing our New and Improved Mobile Payment App

By John Meader, QA Engineer

The development team here at EV Range has some big news: The EV Range Payment App recently underwent a redesign!

This time around, our main focus was to make our technology more intuitive as the number of EV users rapidly increases. That's why we put extra effort crafting a design that welcomes users and avoids any confusing industry jargon.

First and foremost, we streamlined the app's interface, paying close attention to screen space, widget location, and removed distractions that made the UI feel crowded. Overall, we created a clean design that enables you to move seamlessly through the payment process.

On top of design changes, we are also introducing a range of new features. Now you will have access to:

  • Real-time data graphs that provide detailed insights into power levels;

  • Location services to help you find available chargers in the vicinity;

  • Active charging metrics including a live graph that displays state of charge and kW power over time;

  • Constant visibility into the cost of the charging session and charging duration;

  • Warnings to minimize problems with getting a session started (e.g., users are encouraged to plug in after the app starts to prevent vehicle timeouts that cause common charging failures); and

  • Additional metrics provided about site-specific grace periods, if applicable, and overstay fees when charging sessions completes

How to Use the App

The beauty of the new payment app is that it’s easy to set up and use. You can have your car charging in under a minute. Here are few steps to follow:

  1. Go to app.evrange.com

  2. Confirm the EV Range charger to use

  3. If this is your first time with EV Range, create an account

  4. Add payment information

  5. Plug in and begin charging!

All in all, this new version of our payment app is a significant upgrade. We believe the new look is a long-awaited change that was overdue. We hope you enjoy the new look, and continue to choose EV Range for your charging needs!
